Getting Back Together… it sounds like we broke up. But that is what happened to our Business Events Industry… completely unintentionally, we broke up.

Our industry is full of like-minded individuals, crazy, creative types – a social bunch who know the power of togetherness. We live the highs of achievement which is garnered via co-operation and the interchange of ideas. We communicate, we collaborate.

So, while our COVID situation is creating anxiety and insecurity in our industry, we can amend the narrative that plays in our heads. The great success stories of the countless companies who have successfully pivoted into virtual/hybrid are fabulous good news stories.

It isn’t easy breaking up. So, we are determining not to. Staying true to our Incentive roots, we at ID are seeking out friends to practise and remember togetherness.

This week we Got Back Together with our industry pals at Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection to experience the unique Office Daycation X Pier One. How apt, we thought, let’s go check it out.

Arriving at 0600 (should you choose – we did not) you check into your room and plug in. Then the day is yours – no family disruptions, no noisy neighbours and, importantly, if you decide, the choice to collaborate with team members. Some inclusions are water views from your “office”, personal Nespresso and tea bar, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and a contact free personalised lunch delivered to your door.

Of course, room service is available, and they even have a chair menu to choose from! There is an option to overnight with an extended late checkout of 1800 the next day.

Upon arrival you are greeted by the gorgeous Beatrice (resident Schnauzer) who holds the esteemed position of Director of Pet Experiences. Adding to the fun, and The Dogs of ID enjoyed this, the Hotel is 100% pet friendly. Taylor and Belle Belle were able to WFH with us all day, just as they have become (too) accustomed to at home. Perhaps offices of the future will become more fur friendly as a result of COVID as I am not sure how all our pooches and felines will adapt after this is all over!

So, as we are getting back to motivation and commitment to the in-person process, we hope to see you next time as we visit with other industry friends!

If this whole experience sounds like the break you need from COVID chaos, check out a snapshot below.
